Our Mission

Our mission is to transform social values and systems to better respond to the care and support needs of less privileged older persons in society.

Our Vision

At Ethel Foundation for the Aged, we envision a society where every older person leads a dignified life that is free of want, abuse, neglect and discrimination according to Catholic Social Teachings.

Our Approach

Together with older persons and collaborators, EFA will facilitate the advancement and protection of the rights of older persons now and for future generations. We will challenge and enhance both our internal capacities and the capacities of external stakeholders to determine fitness for purpose in older persons’ programming. We will forge strategic partnerships across sectors to mobilize people and institutions to change public opinions, policies and laws as well as jointly with the older persons and stakeholders, develop and implement programs that respond to the critical and unique needs of older persons.

Overall, we will work with older persons and our stakeholders to transform social values and systems by strengthening capacities, changing social norms, influencing policies and advocating for the less privileged older persons in society.

Guiding Principles

Implementation of this strategic plan will be guided by the Catholic Social Teachings (CST) which emphasize the advancement of human dignity and common good in the society. These guiding principles form the hallmark of our work as an organization. They form our value system and commitment to the older persons that we serve.
